This recipe is easy to make, a delicious appetizer, with many benefits. The health benefits of mushrooms include relief from high cholesterol level breast cancer, prostate  cancer  and diabetes. It also helps in weight loss, and increases the strength of your immune system.


1 tbsp, vegetable oil

1/2 onion, chopped into chunks

1 clove, garlic, crushed and chopped (or pureed)

8 mushrooms, quartered

200ml chicken stock or vegetable stock

1 tbsp corn flour mixture

A pinch of salt, or to taste

1 tsb soya sauce, or to taste

1 tsb, oyster sauce, or to taste (if vegetarian don’t use this)kamDirections:

Heat oil in a wok on high heat, until hot and add onions and garlic and fry for 1 minute, be careful not to burn the garlic.

Next add in the mushrooms and fry for two minutes.

Pour in one ladle of chicken stock and leave for two minutes or until it is starting to boil.

Then gradually add the 2 tablespoons of corn flour mixture.

Once this mixture is well incorporated and the sauce is thickened. Add salt, soya sauce and oyster sauce and serve.

You can also Serve with rice or fried noodles.
